The Seattle Spelling Bee returns to Jillian's on July 13th. Please note the new start time of 7pm instead of 8pm. Perfect timing for having dinner while spelling. Buzzword - The Pike Place Market Foundation's BeeCongrats go out to the team of Chloe, Josh, and Randy who put in a great performance at the May qualifiers of Buzzword, a fund raising bee run by the Pike Place Market Foundation. Newcomer Anna took top honors with an impressive run through the verbal portion after a strong showing in the written. Randy earned the top seed with a solid 37/40 and was this month's runner up. The words in the written section are listed below.

The field made quick work of many of the words with 30% of them being spelled with at least 90% accuracy and all but seven of the words had 50% accuracy or better. But coulummiers and kharif proved to be sticklers which eluded all spellers in the room. You can how everyone fared on each word on the stats page.
